Ladies and Gents, what are you saying...

For any of you amazing people that know me, you know that I was previously a Police Officer for Greater Manchester Police. This Job role had its ups and mainly its downs. After 5 years in the job, I started to realize I was struggling. Struggling with how my mind recalled incidents and how it archived them in that storage box that we all have and manage in the back of our heads. Well, the thing is, it didn't manage, and my box became full. It liked to remind me in detail that all the memories of incidents were still there. Fresh and ready to be recalled at any second. Playing back, as if I were stood in that Uniform, reliving it all over again. Sounds, Emotions, Smells, Visions...

Being diagnosed with PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This was something I knew was coming. This was something I didn't want to know and didn't want to face. Also dealing with Hyper Vigilance, Brain Fog and Chronic Burnout... a cocktail of Demons you could call it. Watching everyone and everything. Not sleeping because when I did, the nightmares decided to press play. This illness takes over and takes control of your life. Isolated from friends and family, worrying what they would think if you had an episode in their presence.

With men, we don't talk about subjects like this, we think it makes us weak. We think others “Just don’t get it.” We go to work big and strong, bring food home and be that protector to our loved ones. This stigma needs to change, not just for men but everyone. Now, I'm finally learning to talk, learning to address these triggers and deal with them one by one. The only way this can be done is by talking.

I want to help, do my bit by raising money, to help contribute to tailored coaching sessions which will help members of our forces and public services to get the help they need. The help they need to reduce the pressure and cope with Mental Health issues that they struggle with in the daily of life.

The Charity I am raising money for is Rock2Recovery.

Rock2Recovery is dedicated to saving and transforming the lives of individuals in the Armed Forces, veterans their immediate family members and funded 999 services, who are facing difficult challenges. “We proactively connect with veterans and their families through social media, word of mouth, and our growing community. Our one-to-one coaching sessions are designed to create meaningful change, using a tailored approach that empowers individuals to reshape their mindset and emotional well-being. We are passionate about making a real impact and ensuring that help is always available when it is needed most.”

So, on the 30th May 2025, I plan on completing the Surrey Three Peaks Challenge. This is a 23 Mile Hike across a mixture of terrain. DONE- COMPLETED IN UNDER 7 HOURS.  TOTAL RAISED AT THIS POINT £760.00

Then...  on 1st August 2025 I then plan on completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. This is 24 Mile hike, again across a mixture of terrains. More of a climb then the Surrey Hike. Good time to be completed is approx. 12 hours and under. DONE - COMPLETED IN JUST UNDER 8 HOURS. TOTAL RAISED AT THIS POINT £945.00

I'm not done yet... Finally in October 2025, I plan on completing the National Three Peaks Challenge in just 24 Hours. Climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowden (Wales) all in 24hours. This includes driving from one location to another and wearing a 20KG weighted vest.

So, if you can help me and donate whatever you can, no donation too big or too small. Every penny will contribute towards a cause, helping people that have a job, to help protect and be there to provide a safe and healthy life for people just like you and me. I just like to thank my friends and family that have supported me with this random thought, waking up one day thinking “I’m going to climb some big hills”! And finally, a thank you to my Employer Millbrook Healthcare and the staff surrounding me, assisting, and supporting me where they can.

If you’re reading this and feel like you can relate. Don't bottle it up and crack on! Reach out because you'll be surprised. Surprised that others out there do get it, want to listen to you, help, and rebuild you.

Finally, do me a Favor you beautiful lot… GO PRESS THAT DONATE BUTTON... Just saying !!

Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:

Rock2Recovery

Rock 2 Recovery, was formed in 2015 by Jamie Sanderson and Jason Fox, after they both experienced their own battles with stress after transitioning from the Royal Marines.

Our mission is to save and change the lives of those in our Armed Forces, our Veteran Community, the Emergency Services and their families who are affected by stress. Our purpose is to inspire and coach towards a more positive future.

Sessions are free to our clients and so fundraising has a vital part to play for us.

Following our unique experiences, we recognise the need for rapid preventative interventions, specific coaching and assistance.

Our non-clinical approach is aimed at inspiring, coaching, motivating and supporting individuals to experience real and positive change in their lives by "rethinking your thinking".  We encourage everyone to engage in their own recovery and find their "rock".

Join our wonderful community of inspirational people from all walks of life, who encourage each other to achieve personal goals, including Service people and Veterans who’ve been affected by stress themselves. We could not provide the support to those who need us without our supporters and fundraisers, some who have used the service and want to give back and others who have been inspired by stories they have heard about the work that we do.

All of us at R2R thank you for your efforts and for every single penny raised, we couldn't do it without you!
