About Elenor Bouchet
On 27 April 2025 I ran my first marathon, having only graduated from Couch to 5k five years before that, and said I would never do it again! Two weeks later I had signed up to the Loch Ness Marathon taking place on 27 September 2026. At the time, I had no idea that cancer would hit my family again and in September 2025, very sadly, two people I love dearly, my Uncle and Sister-In-law both announced their diagnoses. Both with aggressive forms of the awful disease, ripping big holes in my family once more. It took my Uncle's life in April this year and my sister-in-law's diagnosis is terminal and she only has a short time left. For London, I ran with 26 names on my arm - a mile in memory for 26 special people - some I'd never met and some who were my own family. This time, I just run for two - Claire and Uncle Stephen. I love you both very much.
Fundraising Information
This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:
Jersey Hospice Care is the Island’s only hospice – providing specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting conditions. Services include the Specialist Palliative Care Team – who support people at home, in hospital, and in care homes, an In Patient Unit providing a home away from home, educational programmes, complementary therapy, emotional, spiritual and faith support, and community bereavement services. Jersey Hospice Care is an independent charity, providing all its services without a charge to patients. It costs £22,000 a day to run – funded mainly by the generosity of Islanders. This comes in the form of donations, fundraising, and sales in our charity shops, as well as through the outstanding work of the dedicated volunteers who give their time and skills to keep Hospice running.
