About Adam Taylor

Profile picture

My name is Adam Taylor and on the 16th April 2023 I will be running the Manchester Marathon in a 10kg Weighted Vest to help raise some much needed funds for Armed Forces and Emergency Services Mental Health Charity - Rock2recovery.

Being a former Royal Marines Commando, I have seen first hand the impact that poor mental health can have on servicemen and women who have put themselves in harms way for their country. I have also seen first hand the amazing work that charities like Rock2Recovery do, by getting the life saving treatment to those who need it most, as well as those who maybe don’t feel comfortable to speak up and ask for it.

Mental Health is a silent killer, and I’m sure everyone reading this knows someone who has been affected by or struggled with their Mental Health, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel if people get the help they need in time.

I will be wearing the weight of Military body armour for the entire 26.2 miles which will undoubtedly earn me a 1 way ticket to the hurt locker! But if this helps just one person get the life-saving help that Rock2Recovery provide, then it’s all worth it!

To do this, I need YOUR help!

Please donate any amount that you can spare which will help spur me on with my training, and raise awareness for Armed Forces and Emergency Services Mental Health.

I fully appreciate that times are hard for most right now, so I can’t stress enough that any donation, even £5, will still make a massive difference and literally go towards saving the life of someone who laid down theirs for their country. Now that’s got to be worth the price of a pint surely?!

Thank you all in advance for your donations! You can follow my training progress and watch me on the day of the race via @adamtaylor160388 Instagram

Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:

Rock2Recovery

Rock 2 Recovery, was formed in 2015 by Jamie Sanderson and Jason Fox, after they both experienced their own battles with stress after transitioning from the Royal Marines.

Our mission is to save and change the lives of those in our Armed Forces, our Veteran Community, the Emergency Services and their families who are affected by stress. Our purpose is to inspire and coach towards a more positive future.

Sessions are free to our clients and so fundraising has a vital part to play for us.

Following our unique experiences, we recognise the need for rapid preventative interventions, specific coaching and assistance.

Our non-clinical approach is aimed at inspiring, coaching, motivating and supporting individuals to experience real and positive change in their lives by "rethinking your thinking".  We encourage everyone to engage in their own recovery and find their "rock".

Join our wonderful community of inspirational people from all walks of life, who encourage each other to achieve personal goals, including Service people and Veterans who’ve been affected by stress themselves. We could not provide the support to those who need us without our supporters and fundraisers, some who have used the service and want to give back and others who have been inspired by stories they have heard about the work that we do.

All of us at R2R thank you for your efforts and for every single penny raised, we couldn't do it without you!
