About John Pilkington
Hello All,
Over the last few years I have been raising money for special case individuals and Rock2RecoveryUK. As many are aware, Mental Health is a huge issue in the UK Armed Forces and Blue Light Services; serving members, veteran’s and their families.
I’ve chosen Rock2RecoveryUK as a Community Interest Company (CIC: 09422840) I’d like to support. Rock2RecoveryUK was co-founded by friend and former Royal Marine Jamie Sanderson and former Special Forces Operator Jason Fox (known from SAS: Who Dares Wins) who began the charity to help those suffering with mental injuries to adjust and live their life through a sophisticated network of mental health professionals and coaches. They are making a difference directly to those serving, veterans and their families.
Why the Inuksuk? The Inuksuk or Inukshuk is a cairn built from stone in the form of a human being used by the Inuit to mark the route of safe passage. The Inuksuk is the result of focused action by a group united in one purpose. The Inuksuk teaches us that our individual efforts may be strong but together we are stronger. A symbol of the spirit of humanity; The Inuksuk is the perfect symbol for the enduring challenges in aide of #mentalhealthawareness It is under this umbrella brand that I challenge myself to raise money for Rock2RecoveryUK by completing 'The Montane Winter Spine Challenger South Race (108 miles)' in January 2024, the peak of British Winter.
The Montane Winter Spine Challenger South Race is the first 108 miles of the infamous “Britain’s Most Brutal” Ultra Marathon beginning in Edale (Peak District) that covers approximately 43000ft elevation over 268 miles (426 km) finishing in Kirk Yetholm (Scottish Borders). The Challenger South will finish in Hawes.
I hope to raise £2000 minimum to help R2R continue to support those who need it. Please give what you are able to no matter how big or small you feel it may be. It will all help toward my total. Thank you all so much for your time and donations should you make them. I am forever grateful.

Fundraising Information
This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:
Rock 2 Recovery, was formed in 2015 by Jamie Sanderson and Jason Fox, after they both experienced their own battles with stress after transitioning from the Royal Marines.
Our mission is to save and change the lives of those in our Armed Forces, our Veteran Community, the Emergency Services and their families who are affected by stress. Our purpose is to inspire and coach towards a more positive future.
Sessions are free to our clients and so fundraising has a vital part to play for us.
Following our unique experiences, we recognise the need for rapid preventative interventions, specific coaching and assistance.
Our non-clinical approach is aimed at inspiring, coaching, motivating and supporting individuals to experience real and positive change in their lives by "rethinking your thinking". We encourage everyone to engage in their own recovery and find their "rock".
Join our wonderful community of inspirational people from all walks of life, who encourage each other to achieve personal goals, including Service people and Veterans who’ve been affected by stress themselves. We could not provide the support to those who need us without our supporters and fundraisers, some who have used the service and want to give back and others who have been inspired by stories they have heard about the work that we do.
All of us at R2R thank you for your efforts and for every single penny raised, we couldn't do it without you!
