I am delighted to be running in the 'Two Castle' 10K running event for Eye Health UK on Sunday June 10th 2026. Running in the country between two of England's finest castles. From Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle.

Simone is a Locum Dispensing Optician, with a passion for eye (and general) health and is the Training & Development Lead for the Local Optical Committee Support Unit. She previously ran a 10K for Fight for Sight back in 2018 on their 'Journey to the Centre of the Eye' campaign, in 59 minutes. The target is slightly slower now and she is hoping to finish around the 1 hour 10 minutes mark!

Eye Health UK (EHUK) is a charity dedicated to improving the UK's eye health. As a champion for prevention they create resources and run public health campaigns designed to educate and motivate people to actively look after their eyes in a bid to prevent avoidable sight loss, improve eye health and help us all live well for longer.

EHUK aims to encourage increased uptake of routine eye tests/vision screening; support and empower people to make informed choices about their eye care; and inspire healthy lifestyle changes to benefit eye (and general) health.
