About Doug Emslie and Mike Seaman
On the 1st July 2023 Doug and Mike will attempt to raise £120,000 as part of their attempt to conquer the West Highland Way in Scotland. They will have to contend with running a total distance of 96 miles (154km) with 3,155m (10,351ft) of elevation gain, very tricky terrain, 'variable' weather conditions and of course midges to complete the challenge!
They are raising money for 4 charities that are personally important to them which include:
- Green Hub is a local community project supporting teenagers and their families / carers facing social, emotional and mental health challenges.
- Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity is a leading, specialist paediatric centre, delivering some of the most advanced treatments, complex surgical procedures and cutting-edge research to over 90,000 children and young people from across the UK and beyond.
- Mind UK provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
- Cancer Research UK fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. They also provide cancer information to the public.
