On Sunday 9th of July I will be cycling from Manchester to Liverpool to raise funds for FOCUS. I am riding to support my close friend Sarah Rubin and her family. The Focus charity is very dear to their family including her father Graham who died last year. On a personal level I am delighted to be at a level of fitness that enables me to make the ride from Manchester to Liverpool. I have worked very hard over the last few years after not prioritising my physical health and I am proud of what I have achieved.
The Focus Foundation is an innovative supported living Jewish charity which meets the needs of adults with learning disabilities, people on the autistic spectrum and people with physical disabilities. We are focused on the needs of Greater Manchester and the North, reaching out to all parts of the Jewish community. Our Lev Simcha project meets the distinct needs of the more orthodox community.
After only 15 months in existence, we are offering a holistic service to 34 people and their families. We strive to ensure our members have access to a full range of support including quality housing, domestic skills, employment opportunities, social activities, and full participation in Shabbat & Jewish festivals.
On Sunday 09th July, we are cycling from Manchester to Liverpool (approximately 40 miles) in the beautiful English countryside, ending in Liverpool with a delicious BBQ for all our riders.
You don’t need to be a serious rider, super fit and have done anything like this before. All we ask is that you are keen to take on a little challenge, raise a minimum donations of £500 and enable The Focus Foundation to continue with heir valuable work within the community. Once registered, you will receive fundraising and training packs to help you prepare for the day.
