I’ll start running when I’m fitter?
No no, repetition is the key to making it work. Don’t wait for something to fall in line to make something else easier (excluding injuries, obviously).
I hear it so often especially in team training like BJJ or MMA. So many people say to me, I’d love to start but I’m not fit enough… you never will be if you don’t start. My energy when it comes to lifting weights or doing BJJ is at an all time high, but my ability to run has taken a massive hit, why? Because I’m not doing it.
To become good at something you have to do it. You wanna run 10km, ok run 1km, walk 4km and build from there.
But trust me, you will never be ready to start a task until you are about 2 months into that specific task, just because you need to build on the repetition.
