Le Cure is a 4-day ride in the Alps, covering 400km and more than 10,000m elevation. I have managed to fit in a bit of training, but a combination of very soggy UK weather and being busy at work has meant I am a bit behind where I wanted to be. I look forward to tackling the mountains though and will give it my best shot.
My mother died 5 years ago, aged 65, after a 12 month battle with cancer. She was as fit as a fiddle and climbing hills until shortly before she passed. Mum was an amazing person and continues to leave a big hole in the lives of those who knew her. We all know what a horrible monster cancer is and the Royal Marsden is a great charity.
For the avoidance of doubt, I am paying for the event myself and any donations will go straight to the charity. I hope that you can support Le Cure and that the rain stays away from the Alps that week!
