In May 2020 I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Following 6 months of intensive chemotherapy in So'ton, a bone marrow biopsy in July 2021 picked up a recurrence and I was told the devastating news that my only chance of survival was to undergo a stem cell transplant. Another 5 months of intensive chemo to wipe out my immune system ready for my new cells took place and on 23rd December 2021, I was re-born with new cells from my brother, Pete. I previously lost my amazing Mum, my very dear cousin and friends and family to this disease. Research is so important to strive for kinder treatment and a cure.
