I started running seriously after a a really bad bout of shingles during lockdown. I ran on my own but didn't enjoy it. I tried running groups but felt even more alone and unwelcomed.
In 2020 i found Black Girls Do Run UK who gave me the support and confidence to not only enter races but run distance I could only ever dream of. 2024 sees me running my 2nd marathon and my 2nd ultra marathon amongst a multitude of other distances.
I am so very proud to be representing and running the TCS London Marathon in support of Black Girls Do Run UK who promote more equity and inclusion in the running community,
I'm proud to be one of their local run leaders, taking women in East London for a social run bi-weekly.
Please help me to support this worthy cause and help to build a more representative running community.
Gill xx
