£575.00 Raised

About Tom Bull

Profile picture

When ROK talked to me about setting up a cycling trip in France I was delighted to help. Not only as I enjoy cycling, but for the reasons they are doing it! Happy Heroes is a local charity for young people with additional needs. The Construction industry sometimes can have a negative reputation and for companies like ROK to give back and encourage other construction workers to be part of that is Great! This ride will be a real challenge, with some riders never having ridden a road bike before, let alone covered any real distances. I have been asked to be a group leader and am committed to helping the group achieve and to raise as much money whilst raising the profile of Happy Heroes in the process.

Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:

Happy Heroes

Our aim is to be a safe, enclosed environment for children with additional needs to play, socialise with their peers and have a place where they can be completely themselves with no judgement.
We provide a space for parents/carers to relax knowing their children are safe and engage with other families who are in similar circumstances. We provide emotional support to parents and carers.
We hope to host monthly parent meetings for parents to meet without their children to discuss any difficulties they are facing or seek advice from other families. We can also signpost to various other agencies/charities when appropriate.

About De Tour De France

This June, ROK is hosting a 3 day cycle challenge where cyclists will have the opportunity to participate in an off-island adventure in aid of a brilliant cause - Happy Heroes

With just over 30 cyclists gliding to the ferry, they will embark of 3 days of riding a total of 280km through the scenic french landscape, eventually returning to the ferry triumphant and not defeated.

Each cyclist pledges to raise a minimum of £300 which is donated to Happy Heroes.

Happy Heroes is a charity run entirely by volunteers who aim to provide a safe, enclosed environment for children with additional needs to play, socialise with their peers and have a place where they can be completely themselves with no judgement, as well as also providing support services for parents and carers.
