In deepest darkest lockdown of May 2020, I took up running for the first time in my life using the Couch to 5k plan. A few months later, I proudly ran my first non-stop 5k. then promptly stopped running for 5 months. Over the following 4 years, I've completed C25k approximately 6 times, each time vowing to continue running and each time getting bored and giving up. In an effort to actually stick to a running goal, I decided to enter the Town and Gown 10k to raise money for a wonderful charity!

Muscular Dystrophies are a group of genetic conditions that gradually cause muscle weakness, worsening over time. These conditions are very rare, meaning doctors might not have dealt with them before and may not know much about them. Muscular Dystrophy UK is an incredible charity that supports people living with muscle-wasting conditions and their loved ones, providing vital advice, resources and support for people in need.
