I have entered a Triathlon in June which includes the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada Guinness World Record attempt for the ‘largest parade of kite surfers’ – a record currently held by a group that includes my younger brother - hoping to take that from him!
Subject to the whim of the wind gods I will be kitesurfing a mile, running a mile (in a wetsuit) and then stand up paddle boarding a mile. Please donate even if it gets spoilt by poor weather.
The sponsorship is for The Armada Trust, a registered charity to distribute all funds raised through Kitesurfing and SUP Armada events to a range of fantastic youth and rescue charities. Seems like a good idea for a teacher of land locked students in Oxford!

The Armada Trust was set up as a registered charity (No:1158084) to distribute all funds raised through Kitesurfing and SUP Armada events to a range of fantastic youth and rescue charities – to date raising over £180,000. Funds raised at the 2016 Kitesurfing and SUP Armada have enabled the launch of the first ever Kite & SUP Youth Tour this year which will run throughout April visiting eight tour stops around the country and aiming to engage over 1,000 young people who have never tried power kiting or SUP boarding before.
The Kitesurfing Armada Festival will take place at Hayling Island on the weekend of 22-24 June 2018. The festival will open at 11am on the Friday and will feature all the best kitesurfing brands exhibiting the latest gear, talks from pro-kiters, an outdoor stage, DJ’s and live music, a kids area, BMX displays, a bar area and of course lots of kitesurfing!
