I am taking part in the Go nuts for Acorn in memory of my good friend Dean and his son Charlie.
No explanation is needed for those who knew one of the kindest most genuine people I’ve ever had the fortune and pleasure to know. For those who didn’t know Dean, let’s just say he was unique and a truly funny, brilliant person who cared for everyone and everyone who knew him cared just as much for him in return. Missed so much by so many.

Acorn is Jersey's largest social firm, providing work and training for Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition.
Acorn Enterprises is the trading company of the registered charity Jersey Employment Trust. It comprises:
Acorn Reuse: Retailing second-hand goods which have been donated by members of the public.
Acorn Nursery: Supplying a wide range of quality bedding plants, perennials and shrubs.
Acorn Woodshack: Using the Island's waste timber to create new home ware and winter fuel.
In April 2023 our dear late colleague Dean Lowe and Kiley Henley completed the Virtual London Marathon wearing squirrel accessories, raising money for Acorn.
Dean would have turned 50 in February 2025 and we think he would love the idea of a Squirrel Run in his memory.
We want at least 50 people dressed in squirrel costumes running through St Helier, from West's Centre to Charing Cross and back to the Royal Square.
