About Andrea Cupidore
Hi I’m Andrea, a 55 year old Jamaican born dentist who is over the moon to be running the London marathon 2025 in sponsorship of the phenomenal charity Black Girls do Run UK (BGDRUK)
BGDRUK understands the negative impact that immobility and lack of physical activity have on health and wellness and champions the cause of promoting active lifestyles amongst black and brown women.
We are 60% more likely to develop diseases such as diabetes and heart disease and during the pandemic had higher risks of complications and incidence of death compared to our counterparts. These are statistics that I am unable to accept as our reality.
We can change this narrative of inactivity and disease but a collective effort of education and support is necessary.
When I lace up my shoes and run on April 27th, I will be playing my part in supporting a trailblazing organisation that has courageously set out to do its part in doing just this, by motivating, inspiring and creating opportunities for individuals to move and stay active and healthy.
I will be running the London Marathon 2025 to help change health outcomes in our community. One step at a time. One girl at a time
