I live in Grand Cayman, a small island in the Caribbean, I am surrounded by crystal blue waters but I panic when I am out of my depth in the sea. I have two children, who out-swim me at every opportunity and a husband who regularly swims miles at a time, for fun. I am also fast approaching 40 and needed an incentive to get fit.
What better incentive is there than to feel good and DO GOOD. I have never completed a task that has involved sponsorship, and now I have the opportunity to tackle ALL of the above.
I have started swim classes, upgrading my "mum stroke" to hopefully something more streamlined and less energy absorbing.
I am getting fit, increased cardio at the gym (every step counts).
I am asking you guys to sponsor me, and in turn donate much needed fund towards raising awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and for research into it.
I will be travelling to London to take part in the swim on Friday, 21 September. Wish me luck!
Also every penny counts, so please give, even if it's a small amount.
