About Sean Perry

Profile picture

This will be my 9th Le Cure. The charity has come to mean a great deal to me,  many friends and now family have been touched by cancer. Raising both much needed funds and awareness by riding a bike seems too small a contribution, but it all helps.

Le Cure 2026: Day 1 Valberg to Barcelonnette

Last Updated 1st Sep 2026
Le Cure 2026 kicked off with a corker of a climb up the Col de la Cime de la Bonette (2,802 m), the longest climb most Curistas have ever done. So windy at the top I got blown off twice, plus I vomited after swallowing a fly. The climb was brutal, amazing scenery, but brutal.

⛰️ Col de la Couillole (1,678 m)
⛰️ Col de Raspaillon (2,513 m)
⛰️ Cime de Vermillon (2,579 m)
⛰️ Col de la Bonette (2,715 m)
⛰️ Col de la Cime de la Bonette (2,802 m)
⛰️ Col de Restefond (2,680 m)
⛰️ Faux col de Restefond (2,656 m)

About Le Cure 2026

Dear Curistas

As you probably know, if you've got this far, Le Cure de France is a charity cycling event established in 2014 to raise money for breast cancer research at the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.  So far we have raised over £3.8 million to fund our 8 Le Cure Research Fellowships (and counting), but have much more work to do to help cure cancer.

The route for 2026 includes the formidable Cime de la Bonette (the highest paved road in the Alps), the Col de l'Iseran (the highest mountain pass) and the might Col d'Izoard - fondly remembered from our first ever Le Cure.

Sign up and get cycling!  We can't wait for you to join us in the Alps to raise money to fund new, cutting-edge cancer research at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
