Earlier this year I naively agreed to take part in this year's PedElle cycling challenge from Siena to Rome which covers a distance of 400km over 3 days through the (very daunting) hills of Tuscany.
Whilst seemingly a bit mad, this is all in aid of raising money for a number of worthy charities (100% of donations go to the charities). The main beneficiary is Coram Children's Charity which provides invaluable help in supporting children in care and finds loving homes and adoptive parents for vulnerable children in greatest need. Any donations will also support the charities Cyclists Fighting Cancer, Mutliple Atrophy Trust, and Tom's Trust.
My employer, DP9, have very generously kicked off the fundraising and it would be fantastic if the funds continue to rise in support of these fantastic charities.
PedElle is a real challenge in it's own right, and certainly will be for me as I have barely touched a bike in over 15 years and just a few weeks ago my first outing on a road bike can only be described as resembling Bambi on wheels. If you are able to please make all the pain, sweat, (hopefully not tears), training and lycra worthwhile and sponsor what you can, I will be extremely humbled and grateful. Thank you!
