Later this month I will be cycling about 400km over 3 days from Siena to Rome to raise money for Coram - the UK's oldest children's charity – and a 3 other fantastic charities helping children and young people. Although beautiful, the Tuscan hills will mean over 5,000m of climbing over the 3 days!
Coram is the main beneficiary of Club Peloton, a fundraising charity which uses cycling as its platform to raise vital funds for vulnerable children. Two thirds of funds raised are donated to Coram and used to change the lives of children through Coram's Adoption service, providing loving, stable homes for the UK's most vulnerable children (https://www.coram.org.uk/difference-we-make).
As the UK’s first ever children’s charity, established in 1739, Coram has been transforming children’s lives for 277 years. Today, Coram helps hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children and young people every single year by developing skills, building emotional strength, upholding children’s rights and finding adoptive parents for those in the greatest need. The number of children in care is the highest it has been for years, meaning that Coram needs support more than ever. Coram Adoption helps to find ‘forever families’ for the UK’s hardest to place children.
The remaining 40% raised is split between 3 charities: Tom’s Trust (http://www.tomaprhyspryce.com/) which supports projects for young people, such as, the OK Club in Kilburn, Cyclists Fighting Cancer (https://www.cyclistsfc.org.uk/) giving young people across the UK living with cancer the confidence and ability to regain their physical fitness, and the Multiple System Atrophy Trust (https://www.msatrust.org.uk/) which provides special nurses and other support to people affected by MSA.
Thanks for your support!
