I decided to do the Jersey Round Island Walk for the Epic and rather scary challenge it presents! While I enjoy a good walk, 48 miles will definitely be the biggest walk I have done. So, I thought I would jump in at the deep end and take on two epic walks this year (this one and the West Highland Way)
The Jersey Island Walk not only gives me the opportunity to challenge myself and achieve a new goal but is also a fantastic way to raise money for some very deserving charities.
Bring on the blisters and the achy feet!
The Around the Island Walk Trust has four Walks that you can register for in 2026 taking place on Saturday 20th June 2026.
Main Walk - Covers 48.1 miles around the stunning coastline of Jersey. Starting at 3am from Elizabeth Terminal and goes in an anti-clockwise direction to catch the sunrise as you head east. There are 13 checkpoints along the route where you will be supported and scanned to keep you safe and on track.
Relay - If 48.1 miles is a little daunting, why not get together with colleagues or friends and take on the challenge of the walk as a relay team with up to 4 members.
Lieutenant Governors Challenge - if you would like to do the walk in sections the LG Challenge allows you to take on a different stage. Join his Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey to take on 13 miles from Les Fontaines Tavern to Le Braye.
ONE TMF Challenge - This walk from Bel Royal to the finish line is designed for those who may find our other routes too challenging. Spanning approximately 2 miles along a flat, accessible path, it’s perfect for families with young children, wheelchair users, and anyone with mobility challenges. Join us for this inclusive experience and the joy of crossing the finish line together!
Over the last 35 years, 100's of local charities have benefited from donations exceeding £3,000,000 - a few small steps can help make a BIG difference.
Please remember that in registering for the Walk you are agreeing to support those specific local charities which have successfully applied to the Organisers for funds, the Walk is not intended as a vehicle to raise funds for other Charities.
KEEP WALKING ... KEEP HELPING!
