At the end of August, I will be taking part in a 4 day cycling event in the Alps, Le Cure de France. Le Cure raises money to support breast cancer research at the Royal Marsden.
As many of you know, my partner, Ann, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. She has been, and continues to be, a direct beneficiary of the ground-breaking research undertaken at the Royal Marsden. After chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy, she has, thankfully, been given the all-clear. However, the quest for a cure for cancer continues and I am riding Le Cure to make a small contribution to this quest.
During the course of the 4 days, i will cycle 400km from Vallborg in the Southern Alps to Tignes and climb 10,000m (more vertical metres than Everest is high) over iconic Tour de France climbs such as Cime de la Bonette, Col de Izouard, Lauteret, (the mighty) Galibier and the Col de l’Iseran.
By supporting this fundraiser you are helping to fund the research that gives hope to people facing breast cancer now and to future generations. Every donation, no matter how large or small, will make a real difference. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
