I’m taking on running a half marathon to support Jersey Cheshire Home, a charity that does incredible work providing care and independence for adults with physical disabilities in our local community.
I will also be completing the Heart Half Marathon and the Jersey Marathon. I'm on a mission to beat 2006 me's Marathon PB this October - 21 years older and 10kg heavier, let's do this.

Jersey Cheshire Home
Jersey Cheshire Home is the only facility on the island caring solely for adults with disabilities.
The individuals we care for all have debilitating physical disabilities, this results in them no longer being able to live in their own home. Residents stay with us for as long as they need care with some long term residents being with us for tens of years. On occasion stays are shorter due to an individuals condition improving to such an extent they are able to return to live in their own home. It is always a pleasure for us to see a resident reach such a milestone.
Our Mission: To enhance the lives of islanders with disabilities.
Purpose: To provide a home, specialist care and advocacy for islanders with disabilities.
Our Vision: Jersey Cheshire Home is a centre of excellence for caring for the needs of islanders with disabilities.
The Canaccord Wealth Jersey Half Marathon is a scenic road race which is now in its 37th year. The route takes in the stunning West coast line of Jersey and whilst mainly flat there are a couple of surprises, with a sting in the tail at mile 11!

[1]
Here is the exact dialogue from that scene: [2, 3]
------------------------------
Hank Scorpio: I'm here to welcome you on behalf of the President of the Globex Corporation, me. Try the papayas. They're juicy and full of papain. Makes you strong, like Popeye. Coincidence? I think so. Enzymes are my hobby. I'm Hank Scorpio. [3, 4, 5]
Homer: My boss! [3]
Hank Scorpio: Please, I'm not into that whole "boss" thing. See my feet? Moccasins. You like them? Look in your closet; there's a pair for you. Don't like them? Then neither do I! [2, 3, 4, 6]
(Scorpio takes off his moccasins and hurls them out into the yard) [3, 6]
Hank Scorpio: Get the hell outta here! Heh, ever see a guy say goodbye to a shoe? [2, 6]
Homer: (Chuckles) Yes, once. "
