I’m running the Jersey Half Marathon for Happy Heroes, a charity that supports children with additional needs and their families.
I’ve seen firsthand the difference they make, not just for the children but for the parents and families too. They provide support, opportunities and a community for families who often need it most.
Running 21km including the dreaded La Pulente hill is definitely going to challenge me, but it feels worth it knowing I’m raising money for such an amazing cause.

Our aim is to be a safe, enclosed environment for children with additional needs to play, socialise with their peers and have a place where they can be completely themselves with no judgement.
We provide a space for parents/carers to relax knowing their children are safe and engage with other families who are in similar circumstances. We provide emotional support to parents and carers.
We hope to host monthly parent meetings for parents to meet without their children to discuss any difficulties they are facing or seek advice from other families. We can also signpost to various other agencies/charities when appropriate.
The Canaccord Wealth Jersey Half Marathon is a scenic road race which is now in its 37th year. The route takes in the stunning West coast line of Jersey and whilst mainly flat there are a couple of surprises, with a sting in the tail at mile 11!
