Vicky and I became family through our partners, Ben and Josie, who are siblings. She was a hugely loved member of our wider family, bringing optimism, adventure and fun to every gathering and interaction.

Like me, Vicky was both a doctor and a parent, although considerably more experienced at both, and she was a wonderful source of inspiration and advice in how she approached both these parts of her life. She had an outsized impact on the people around her, and I feel very fortunate to have been one of them.

Vicky died earlier this year from triple-negative inflammatory breast cancer. This year’s Le Cure Classic is dedicated to her memory and will raise money for cancer research at the Royal Marsden.

I have therefore been volunteered, under only mild duress, to represent the wider family by taking part in the Le Cure Classic in Vicky’s memory. It is a privilege to do so, and I would be enormously grateful for any support you can give.
