The time has come for the most important date in the social calender...THE RACE TO PARIS. Embarking from the exquisite Potterow complex in Edinburgh we rely on the sheer kindness of strangers, our roadman status and determination as we hitchhike to Paris against over 60 other teams. Since we will be hitchhiking to Paris with a total budget of £0 we will have to rely on Rhea's sensational orienteering capabilities and Sophia's undeniable chat to get into any vehicle. We're raising money for a Ugandan based charity called 'AFFCAD' which focusses on education, the empowerment of women and health in some of Kampala's poorest slums. There are approximately 4million slum dwellers living in Kampala City representing about 60% of Kampala's population, focused on providing opportunities for Kampala's slum children to access good-quality, formal education. A recent project for example involved building a school in central Bwaise, designed to provide decent education to orphans and other vulnerable children, including those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. We would be very grateful for any donations regardless of the size since even a small amount can result in bettering the lives of people in need.
