About Anna-marie Mclachlan

11yr old Meriel and I have been raising awareness of her condition since 2016 (Nemaline Myopathy). This year I decided to ditch the trainers and city tarmac for my wellies and countryside and did 10k+ this morning!! (Had contemplated flipflops) Meriel started doing circuits in her chair and finished her activity swimming in the pool. Other members of TEAM MAP NEMALINE also kicked off their Sunday shoes to get active this weekend for MDUK (MAP NEMALINE FUND). From walking 3k to even running Half a Marathon wearing a dressing gown. Our Team did not disappoint If you would like to sponsor any of our Team feel free to do so here. xx Thank you for your support xx To watch a video of TEAM MAP NEMALINE'S Town & Gown Journey from 2017 -2020 & read about our other fundraisers -Visit our website www.thedreamstonespirit.org. @TDSspirit FB/Insta/Twitter Thank you for checking in.

Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:

Muscular Dystrophy UK

"Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. We bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions. Muscle-wasting conditions are very rare, affecting just over one in every 1,000 people. As a result, some health professionals may never come across anyone with a muscle-wasting condition and may not know much about them. But we do. Since 1959, we’ve been supporting families living with muscle-wasting conditions. We provide vital information, advice, resources and support for people with these conditions, their families and the professionals who work with them."

About Town and Gown Virtual 2020

After the disappointment of having to postpone Oxford Town and Gown 2020 due to the current coronavirus situation, we wanted to give runners an alternative way of completing their race.

A virtual race allows you to either run 3k, 10k, or 10-miles at a time and date that suits you, in the location that you are staying. You'll still receive the satisfaction of completing the run, sharing with others and receiving a well deserved medal, sent to you in the post once you have uploaded your run.

We do ask that you complete this run as your 'one form of exercise a day', that you only run if and when you are feeling completely well, and that you complete it only with those that you are living with (at a safe distance). Perhaps consider taking it a bit easier, to ensure you keep a strong immune system during this unsettling time.

Wear orange, enjoy it, eat some cake at the end!
