Many of you know that for the past five years I have been involved in the Heavy Metal Truants bike ride from London to the Download Festival for three amazing children's charities.
Firstly, due to COVID 19, there is no Download this year, so you'd think no Heavy Metal Truants, right? - WRONG.
Instead of the in-person three day ride, the eighth edition of HMT (appropriately labeled The Eighth of Spades) includes a range of challenges to be completed 'virtually' across the first 12 days of June. This year, because a) I really do hate riding my bike solo b) work c) no Trooper available in Vancouver, I have decided to participate as part of the 'Snaggler' class, aiming to walk at least 66.6 KM between June 1st and June 12th.
Any sponsorship donations will be very welcome to help me get through those miles, and help us raise as much money as possible for kids in need. I realize everyone is likely finding things pretty tough at the moment and that it's a lot to ask, but any level of support (including moral support) will be most appreciated.
Every penny raised goes directly to the charities.
More details of our antics as we continue on towards our collective goal of raising £1M for the fine charities you see listed on this page can be found at http://www.heavymetaltruants.com
Sincere thanks
James
