Between June 1st and 12th (the weekend that would have been Download Festival), my two sons Ben (12), Harry (15) and I donned our metal t-shirts and hit the Suffolk running paths to run 60 kilometres logging the distance on Strava to raise money for these four incredible children’s charities.
These children need our support now more than ever so if you are in a position to support us … THANK YOU!
Notes:
This was a limited time event but I'm still going, since lockdown I have completed 345 km and plan on continuing running at the same rate.
Last year I climbed the Matterhorn for this great charity (and many of kindly supported me.) For the last eight years the Heavy Metal Truants have been doing all sorts of crazy things including an annual charity cycle ride from London to Download Festival at Castle Donington. The annual event has seen metal fans, bands, and industry types raising a fantastic £681,500 to support children and young people.
