There were 45,000 calls to the Metropolitan Police concerning domestic abuse in the 11 weeks from 23 March, up 11.4% on average compared with the same period in 2019, states an article published by The Guardian, in July 2020. 

As the excerpt from the article suggests, domestic abuse has risen exponentially in the UK, since the start of lockdown. I am running the Rise 8k Undercliff Run for Women 2020 to help those affected by domestic abuse, and to provide survivors with practical support, in order to help them rebuild safer lives. 

R.I.S.E stands for Refuge, Information, Support and Education. RISE is a registered charity that works to provide refuge accommodation, a helpline, legal and financial advice, counselling, special help for children and young people as well as specialist support for LGBTQ+ people affected by domestic violence and abuse.
