I recently started sea swimming with friends to see what all the hype was about! Never been a keen swimmer in the sea as not always able to see what lurks below my feet and the fear of something below me always put me off venturing in as well as the cold water. I have heard so much about wild swimming being so good for the physical and mental well-being and thought I would give it a go. starting off in a wetsuit back in May it was only a couple of dips before I went from long wetsuit and booties to a shorty, rash vest and now swimsuit. the feeling of the sea water is totally energising and instantly lifts you mood, a great start to any day or perfect end to a long day! I am hooked (so to speak) and will go at the drop of a hat with the girls or my mum who i have roped into joining me and loves it too. I would encourage anyone to give it a go, its a sport anyone can enjoy at any age.
Mum and I have taken to cycling to each of our bays for a swim, we take a flask of tea and a snack to enjoy afterwards before our ride home, its been a really fun way to spend time together doing something different. x
