On Sunday 8 May 2022, Oxford Town and Gown is the oldest run in the series. It started in 1982 by local runners as a fun run to raise funds for muscular dystrophy and still to this day all profits from the race go to Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK).
Our unique route is the only closed-road City Centre 10k in Oxford with a glorious stretch along the River Cherwell and finish in the University Parks. In 2019, the run was awarded Best 10k in South East England by the Running Awards.
I am running to raise funds and bring awareness to the very small group of girls and women who are manifesting carriers of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. My youngest daughter is one of these women managing the day to day challenges of reduced mobility. There is limited information and support for these amazing girls and women so I hope that funds raised will support research and bring solutions and help to this very under identified group.Thank you in advance for your donation. Those of you who know me well will know how much it means to me and how grateful I am for your support.
