Anyone who knows me... knows I don’t run!!! Sadly both of my gran’s have fought long and hard battles with dementia. We lost one of those beautiful souls only last night (31/12/21) I had already signed up to do this challenge before her passing, but it means even more to me now to push myself and complete it. I dedicate this challenge to you gran.... you can rest now ???xxx

We are helping to make Jersey a more Dementia friendly island. We want all those people affected by Dementia, or living with the disease to be understood, welcomed and supported.

Thank you so much for donating to Dementia Jersey and participating in the 50-mile challenge.

All funds raised will be held in Jersey and utilised to support the dementia community.

Currently there are 1600 people diagnosed with dementia that we know of, but this excludes the extended family & friends who are also impacted which we estimate to be 1 in every 10 people. With an ageing population it is expected that case of dementia will double in a generation, meaning demand for our services will continue to grow, which is why fundraising is vitally important to help our charity continue supporting the community.

How does our charity help?

Dementia Jersey offers expert advice, support, and information to anyone affected by Dementia in Jersey. We offer therapeutic activities through art, music & swimming, brain training & reorientation programmes, carer support groups and provide educational programmes to the community. Together our services help connect people and create a more dementia friendly island.

If you have been affected by dementia in any way please get in touch, we are here to support you so you don't have to make the journey alone.
