40 years ago I deployed as part of 2 Para Gp to the Falklands. Like Jersey before it, an island occupied by foreign tyrants.Members of the Cdo Bde and Parachute Regt famously yomped 54 miles to battle outside Port Stanley.I am walking in memory of friends and comrades who were lost during the conflict and those who subsequently lost their battle with their memories.
The Main Walk starts at 3am from Elizabeth Terminal at the Harbour. If you do not fancy walking 48.1 miles in one go, why not enter a team of 4 in the Team Relay that follows the main walk route, or the next stage of the Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge which starts at 10.00am from Les Fontaines, Checkpoint 5 and finishes at Le Braye, Checkpoint 9 – everyone running a checkpoint is there to offer each of you support and encouragement.
