Having lost both parents in 2021, within a very short space of time and my dad to a very rare primary lymphoma of the central nervous system, I took up cold water swimming. Our family did not, in the end, use the services of Les Bourgs, but the option was there and I am so aware of the good work that they do and the comfort that they provide to so many families in similar positions to ours, facing the hardest loss in heartbreaking circumstances. Any money that can be raised to ensure that this amazing service continues will, I know, go to a very worthwhile cause.
This event was established in 2014 to raise money for Les Bourgs Hospice, encourage more people to swim in the sea and discover different parts of Guernsey and is now a key event in many islander's Summer calendar. The 30baysin30days concept has been shared with the Jersey Hospice & National Trust Jersey and it has evolved in Guernsey to include a smaller family friendly 9baysin30days version and also a Winter 12 Bays of Christmas challenge.
In 2021 it had over 900 people registered so this year we would really appreciate your help in breaking that record to reach 1000. Please encourage friends, family and work colleagues to get signed up and if the prospect of doing it as an individual is too much why not enter as a team and share the list of bays between you? It's easier than you think so get signed up and make the most of your Summer!
