About jeff collard

Hi, and thank you for your interest in sponsoring my participation in 'The London Marathon 2023', which takes place on Sunday April 23rd 2023, a challenging event which I am running in support of 'Headway Jersey'. This is the 25th Anniversary year for Headway Jersey, who have been helping those with brain injuries including Stroke, Brain Tumour, Aneurysm and serious accidents amongst many other causes. Their services include neuro-physiotherapy, exercise therapy, arts and crafts to aid hand and eye control, focus groups to enhance communication following loss of speech and advocacy, as well as a variety of other services, costing over £300,000 per year, with very little funding from the government. Running is a fantastic activity for mind and body and one which, among my other sporting interests, I have enjoyed for a number of years, mixing my regular participation of the weekly 5km Jersey Parkrun with other 5km, 10km events around the Island. More recently, I have entered longer distance events with the 10 mile 'Great South Run' in 2021 and the half marathon 'Great North Run' in 2022. Training for, and participation in The London Marathon 2023 (my first marathon) will be right up there with my past challenges, which have included the 48 mile 'Island Walk' and before that completion of the 'Three Peaks Challenge', conquering Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all within 24 hours. I simply love a challenge, and all in aid of such a valuable cause ! Thank you again for your interest and Best Wishes for 2023.
