About Talia David

Profile picture

I wanted to take part in this 10k for multiple reasons. Firstly, I will be graduating as an OT in August, working with patients with Muscular Dystrophy so I wanted to support this cause. Secondly, training 4x a week is helping me stay sane throughout the hardest part of my masters as I write my dissertation (which is due 2 weeks after the race). Thirdly, I am always looking for a new physical challenge. My target time is 50 minutes which is VERY bold  and requires a lot of physical and mental strength as I'm not a natural runner. Waking up at 7am in January to run in -4 degrees has definitely been a challenge! If you could support me, any amount of money would be appreciated and will go towards an amazing cause. In order to enter the race I need to raise £50! If you can spare anything from £1 it would be great! Thank you for your support and wish me luck :)

Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good cause:

Muscular Dystrophy UK

"Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. We bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions. Muscle-wasting conditions are very rare, affecting just over one in every 1,000 people. As a result, some health professionals may never come across anyone with a muscle-wasting condition and may not know much about them. But we do. Since 1959, we’ve been supporting families living with muscle-wasting conditions. We provide vital information, advice, resources and support for people with these conditions, their families and the professionals who work with them."

About Oxford Town and Gown 2023

Taking place on Sunday 14 May 2023, Oxford Town and Gown is the oldest run in the series. It started in 1982 by local runners as a fun run to raise funds for muscular dystrophy and still to this day all profits from the race go to Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK).

Our unique route is the only closed-road City Centre 10k in Oxford with a glorious stretch along the River Cherwell and finish in the University Parks. In 2019, the run was awarded Best 10k in South East England by the Running Awards.
