So here we go with my third attempt to successfully complete Le Cure in the right country (France!) and on the right surface (a road!).  Le Curve Ball in 2023 came early in the form of a broken foot but now I can walk again without a comedy boot, four days of gruelling Alpine climbing seemed like the natural next step....

Or more truthfully I am woefully underprepared (and still useless at cycling) but am here because I want to support this incredible charity continue to make a difference to those facing a breast cancer diagnosis now and in the years to come.  It's 8 years since I found a little lump just hours before giving birth to a much bigger lump, my second child, Rory.  Thanks to the medical wizardry at the Royal Marsden (made possible by all the donations that have come before) the little lump has been removed, zapped, chemo’d and starved and I am continually grateful to report: so far, so good.  The bigger lump has grown into an always smiling, mischievous bouncing boy who is an (almost!) constant joy to Mark, me and his caring and determined big sister, Emma.  

I am so grateful to be here with them and be able to sign up to mad challenges way beyond my physical abilities like this.  A mountain goat I am not, but I will focus on my inner tortoise and all the amazing support I am getting to help me power up those mountains.  THANKYOU Louise xx”

About Le Cure 2023

Here we go again!

Le Cure de France is a charity cycling event established in 2014 to raise money for breast cancer research at the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.  So far we have raised over £2.4 million to fund our Le Cure fellowships, but have much more work to do to help cure cancer. 

This is your opportunity to join us for our special, tenth year.  Riders will start in Sestriere in Italy and finish in Mougins in the Cote d'Azur for our final night party and 10 year celebration! 

For the first time, you can also register to join us in Mougins and cycle the final day only. 

As ever, our focus is raising money to fund new, cutting-edge cancer research at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
