When I think of Download, the first person who comes to mind is my desperately missed friend, Steve Kelsey. I attended Download with him not long before he lost his battle with brain cancer and - as you can see from my profile pic - he had the time of his life at that festival.
Myself and my colleagues at Liquid Crimson will be raising money for Heavy Metal Truants, who do amazing work for charity - Nordoff Robbins, Childline, Teenage Cancer Trust and Save the children. Since partnering with them for the Guildford.Games Festival, I've seen first hand how passionate and frankly hardcore they are... so we decided to join them for the virtual Ride to Download
Steve - an EA Guildford employee - was instrumental in helping me find a career path, and ultimately a home, in the games industry. Without him I wouldn't have my dream job nor would I have had the many amazing experiences I've been #blessed to have.
Steve didn't have cancer in his teens, but your donation could go towards helping a young cancer warrior and maybe even towards their recovery and chance to live a long, happy and rock n roll life - as Steve should have.
Thanks so much for reading <3
