About Gensmile Tooth Fairy Run 2023

Fun! Free costume! Free food! Fundraising!

Have fun running (or walking!) to support four great charities. An easy, flat 5 km and then a well-earned brunch.

Every participant will be supplied with wings, a wand and a tutu (just put them on top of your running kit or make them part of a costume) to make this a spectacular celebration of the importance of helping people get the dental care they need internationally and at home. Bring your friends and family to run or support.

The run to be held at 10.00am on Sunday 18 June 2023 to be followed by free brunch for all. Lydiard Park (SN5 3PA) is a beautiful and historical venue but also easily accessible from junction 16 of the M4, just outside of Swindon.

Early bird and group discounts will apply

Our mobile dental units visit hostels, day centres, community halls and night shelters providing emergency treatment for people who find it difficult to access dental care. We also provide dental care in areas where people are struggling to find a dentist and run clinics for refugees and asylum seekers, head and neck cancer patients, veterans, children in areas of social deprivation and victims of domestic violence, including women impacted by modern day slavery.

Dental Mavericks

Dental Mavericks (DM) is a charitable dental relief organisation registered in the United Kingdom with ongoing operations in Morocco and Lebanon, supporting vulnerable communities. Since 2010, the central mandate of Dental Mavericks has focused on promoting oral hygiene education and practice, and more broadly, making dental care accessible to vulnerable populations.

Our priority is to address root causes and take people out of dental pain. Dental Mavericks also participates in cutting-edge medical research in collaboration with leading dental institutions. In all areas of Dental Mavericks activities, we champion an ethos of high-quality care that is patient-led and dignified.

Bridge2Aid

Bridge2Aid fights the causes of poverty in some of the poorest communities in the developing world.

We do this by strengthening local healthcare systems – specifically by training local healthcare workers in the provision of emergency dental treatment. Oral disease, infection and chronic pain, desperately need to be addressed in these communities to enable people to work, attend school and care for their families. Our sustainable training model provides local health workers with the essential skills they need to improve the lives of people in these local communities for the long term. Initially, we have developed our programme in rural Tanzania, and our long term plan is to roll this training out to any country where there is a need.

Bridge2Aid believes that everybody has the right to safe emergency dental care.
