Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good causes:

Jeremiah's Journey

Since 1996, we have been providing support to children, young people and their parents/carers when the future feels uncertain or when hope feels lost. Our work covers Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

Supporting children who are facing the death of a parent or have experienced the death of someone significant, can be hugely beneficial. Children who feel more able to cope with their grief, often report that they have improved concentration at school and less difficulties in expressing and dealing with their emotions.

Hearts Together

As a charity, we provide accommodation in the form of our Hearts Together Hospital Hotel in Plymouth, for patients, carers, and relatives when receiving medical treatment or visiting a loved one in the hospital. We also offer a range of additional practical, financial, and emotional support services to help those dealing with complex challenges such as end-of-life care and emergency or life-changing illnesses. Our aim is to help alleviate the burdens that arise from staying away from home so that our guests can focus their energy on getting better themselves or caring for their loved one or baby in the hospital.

Hospital Radio Plymouth

Run entirely by volunteers, Hospital Radio Plymouth has a long and interesting history. We’ve been a fixture within the local community for over 50 years. Countless presenters have walked through our doors who’ve gone on to the glitz and glamour of professional radio and television, including Phillip Schofield, Gordon Sparks, David Rodgers and Josh Andrews. There are many others working behind the scenes whose long and fruitful careers have started at Hospital Radio right here in Plymouth.
Our team of talented and dedicated broadcasters, technicians and admin people have been producing both live and recorded programmes since 1969, from Plymouth and the surrounding area. We also bring you Plymouth Argyle football matches live from Home Park direct to your hospital bedside over on 107.3FM.
Through the Coronavirus pandemic, our team of volunteers have persevered, setting up booths at home and broadcasting remotely. Away from the studios, our new studio technology has allowed us to continue our work in the community very successfully.

The Wave Project

Surf therapy has become an established form of therapeutic support for both mental and physical health. It is recognised by the NHS in the UK as an effective form of therapy for children and young people at risk of mental ill-health and is also used by the Police and Blue Light services as therapy for serving officers and professionals.

Surf therapy has been our core project for over a decade and lies at the heart of what we do.

Our surf therapy programmes offer young people aged 8 to 21 the opportunity to participate in a specialised surf therapy session once a week for six weeks. Each young person is paired with a volunteer surf mentor and receives one-to-one support appropriate to their needs for the duration of the course.

Brain Tumour Research

Our Vision
To find a cure for all types of brain tumours
Our Mission
To increase the UK investment in brain tumour research

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this!
We are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Argyle Community Trust

In 2024, Argyle Community Trust are hoping to launch an innovative Cancer rehabilitation and exercise programme for men and women living with Cancer, set to launch from Brickfields Community Hub toward the end of the year. We're looking for local fundraisers to help us make this happen!

Argyle Community Trust is the leading sport-for-change charity in Devon and Cornwall. We are the official charity of Plymouth Argyle Football Club and utilise the prestige of football, the reach of the club and the power of the badge to inspire, engage and help people of all ages, genders, race, and socio-economic status. Our work focuses, primarily, on removing barriers to participation and offering opportunities that are accessible to all. We maintain a particular focus on disadvantaged and isolated communities, underrepresented groups and at-risk children, young people and adults and we use the power of the brand as a starting point for engagement with these communities.

This innovative new Cancer Rehabilitation project will enable us to use physical activity to help patients during their recovery in a physical, social, and emotional context. The programme will provide participants with the benefits of physical exercise, whilst also creating a consistent social environment where members can share stories and increase their confidence and self-esteem during a difficult period in their lives. Participants will be welcomed on to our project at any time throughout their cancer journey; from diagnosis, during treatment or recovery and through to remission, meaning they can benefit from the programme before, throughout and after treatment. The project is set up to help people make positive connections at a time where they are feeling lonely/scared.

The Shark Trust

Sharks and rays are some of the ocean's most amazing animals. Present in our seas for 400 million years, they are vital and valuable but also vulnerable.  Around a 1/3 of all shark, skate, ray and chimaera species are considered "threatened" with extinction, largely due to the impact of unsustainable fisheries.  The Shark Trust works globally to ensure endangered species of sharks are suitably protected, while also pushing for science-based fisheries management for all species to ensure long term sustainability.

Dartmoor Zoological Society

Helping People Helping Wildlife

Our Vision is to protect threatened species and enable people to help wildlife thrive.

Our Mission is to conserve wildlife, promote wellbeing and educate future generations by inspiring people to be more connected with nature.

Dartmoor Zoo is a 33 acre wildlife park located on the fringes of Dartmoor in Devon and it is home to hundreds of animals – some of which are sadly classed as vulnerable to extinction.   The Zoo was established in 2007 when Benjamin Mee and his family bought the ailing zoo, since then Ben, his family and a dedicated zoo team have built it into the popular visitor attraction it is today. Ben wrote a book about his experience and in 2011 it was made into the Hollywood film ‘ We Bought a Zoo’ starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson.

In 2014 the Zoo became a Charity ( Dartmoor Zoological Society) of which Ben is the Chief Executive Officer.

Today the Zoo is heavily involved in research, conservation and education projects to promote the welfare of animals and to enrich both the lives of humans and animals. At the heart of all Dartmoor Zoo’s activities is conservation. By improving conservation through research and education, the Zoo is finding ways to help protect vulnerable species by investigating ways to protect the environment and by identifying opportunities where humans and nature can interact to create better health and wellbeing.

As well as developing international conservation and research programmes, Dartmoor Zoo provides education, discovery and learning opportunities for thousands of school children, young people, community and disadvantaged groups every year.

Dartmoor Zoo’s work helps protects endangered species and enriches people’s lives by encouraging engagement with nature and by providing training and educational opportunities.
