About Chew Valley 10k 2025

Welcome to the 13th Chew Valley 10k - Sunday 1st June 2025: 9.30am Start

Our race start will once again be just up from Race Headquarters at Bishop Sutton Village Hall, Wick Road, with closed roads at the start and finish.  Our parking is free and is just up the road at Westway Farm
From Wick Road (just after New Manor Farm Shop), you will turn left at Widcombe Common and take in some beautiful, undulating rural lanes, set in the backdrop of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Another left further on takes you to Coley Hill about half way - lovely and leafy and with marshals cheering you on at the bottom and top! The route then takes in Back Lane and Upper Road in Hinton Blewett, past the Ring o' Bells pub and then left back out of the village and towards Top Sutton, via Hinton Blewett Road, with minimal traffic on the main open route.
The last 2km or so is a wonderful drop back down Sutton Hill Road, onto Church Lane and to the back of Bishop Sutton Primary School on Highmead Gardens and a very warm welcome home - check out our new course video at www.chewvalley10k.co.uk !
If you are a wheelchair user, are visually impaired or have a disability where you will require a buddy/guide runner, please contact Denise on email@chewvalley10k.co.uk to to discuss a free buddy/guide runner place. Denise can also arrange a reccie of the route for you.
Road Closures and Re-openings
Please be aware that our road closures from approximately the 8km mark (top of Sutton Hill Road) will re-open at 11.15am on race day. Entrants will therefore need to ensure they can complete the course in 1hr 40 minutes (allowing 5 minutes to get through the Start line) to ensure their safe completion of the route and the safety of our marshals.
Transfer/Refund Policy
Free transfers are available up to a cut-off point of Sunday 4th May 2025 at 10pm. As a small team raising money for our chosen beneficiaries and ordering medals and t-shirts in advance, we are not able to make refunds.
Closing Date for Entries
The closing date for entries is 8am on Wednesday 28th May 2025, if not sold-out before. There will be no transfers or entries on Race Day.
Additional Insurance Policy
You can purchase an additional Refund Protect insurance policy when you are completing your registration and this covers a number of reasons as to why you might not be able to make event day on 1st June 2025. Further details are available on the entry page.
Thank you for your support! We look forward to seeing you all again soon! You can keep up-to-date by following us on Facebook, X @chewvalley10k and Instagram or can contact us at email@chewvalley10k.co.uk.

Fundraising Information

This fundraising page benefits the following good causes:

Chew Valley School Society

The Chew Valley School Society is a group of parents, teachers and friends of the school who raise money to support Chew Valley School and its students. The committee meet regularly to organise fundraising events, as well as providing support and refreshments at events such as the new intake parents' evening and Christmas Carol Concert. The Society is well supported by parents, but so that it can continue to provide financial support to the school and students, which is essential for the continued success of the school in the current financial climate, we would encourage more parents and Chew Valley residents and businesses to get involved with the committee and attend their events. If you are interested in assisting the School Society (formally or informally), please contact Penny Rowlands at Cvschoolsociety@outlook.com

Star Scheme

star* scheme supports young people and families to overcome the impact of experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences ( ACEs) through engagement with grassroots rugby. Research shows us that in order for young people to overcome the impact of ACES, they need to build resilience through relationships with trusted adults; grassroots rugby is the perfect space for this to happen. We provide access and resources that a young person and family might need to enable them to engage with the sport, from kit to transport. We also work with rugby clubs to provide specific training to ensure adults are informed and equipped to provide the support and space that a young person needs. We are committed to ensuring that ACEs are mitigated by being involved in sport, with everyone at the scheme committed to developing young people into leaders of the future.
