About Earth Day Virtual Race

Celebrate global unity, sustainability, and personal achievement with the Earth Day Virtual Race — an inspiring event that lets you make a real difference while achieving your fitness goals. Designed for runners, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts of all abilities, this meaningful virtual challenge turns every step into a statement of support for our planet.

Taking place around Earth Day (22nd April), this flexible virtual event allows you to complete your challenge anywhere in the world — outdoors, on trails, in parks, on roads, or even on a treadmill. Choose the distance that suits you best, with options typically including 1K, 5K, 10K, 10 miles, half marathon, or full marathon, making it accessible for beginners and seasoned athletes alike.

More than just a race, this event is about purpose. Earth Day has been celebrated globally since 1970 as a day to protect our environment and inspire positive action. By taking part, you can help raise awareness and support environmental initiatives, with 10% of profits helping support environmental charity, The Clean Earth Trust.

Every participant who completes the challenge and submits their activity evidence receives a beautiful eco-friendly finisher’s medal, often crafted from sustainable materials such as renewable birch wood — a powerful symbol of your commitment to protecting the planet.

The Clean Earth Trust

The Clean Earth Trust is a local Guernsey based charity helping limit human impact on the environment. Established in 2018 by Andrew Munro, the Trust was formed following the success of its #pickitupguernsey campaign through which it won, and was nominated for, several community awards.
Since its inception the team have launched a number of initiatives to raise awareness of the growing challenges that face our natural world. We focus on community led and data driven projects that create meaningful and measurable impact, alongside campaigns that highlight important local issues concerning the health of our island and its inhabitants.
In addition to our projects and campaigns, we run outreach programmes with schools, youth organisations and corporate groups.
