About Moray Coastal Trail Races 2026

Experience Scotland’s most breathtaking coastline with the Moray Coastal Trail Races! Choose between:

  • 50-Mile Ultra: A full journey along the iconic Moray Coastal Trail.
  • 23-Mile Trail Race: A shorter distance showcasing the area’s most stunning highlights.

Both routes immerse you in the dramatic beauty and rich heritage of the Moray coastline, renowned for its wide sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, picturesque fishing villages, and some of the finest seafood in the world.

Moray is famous for having some of the best coastline and seafood around. With its wide sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, coastal formations and attractive fishing villages, it makes for a stunning route for a race. Beginning at the RD's home town of Forres, you soon reach the coastline at Findhorn, famed for its eco-community. From there, a forest overlooking the sea takes you past where the RD got married (this is how much he loves the area!) all the way to Lossiemouth and its epic clifftops, to Spey Bay where you can search for dolphins, past picturesque former fishing villages, and then finishing in Cullen.

Interesting fact: Kyle & Debbie's 2nd son was born the night before the inaugural Moray Coastal Trail 50, and Kyle had to leave the hospital only a couple of hours after the birth to go and mark the course..!

Abbie's Sparkle Foundation

We are a Scottish Children’s Charity providing support for children with Cancer across Scotland. We know how important it is to live every moment of every day to the full and Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation is here to spread Abbie’s Sparkle to help brighten a child’s day #sparkle.

Abbie’s smile, sparkle and infectious enthusiasm lit up the room and that’s exactly how Abbie wants people to remember and celebrate her life. Abbie (15) passed away on Christmas Day, 2017, after living with Sarcoma a rare form of Cancer, for four years and four months. Christmas was Abbie’s favourite day, she loved it, we believe that Abbie held on and chose the sparkliest day of the year to go. It was the sense of humour and laugh-out-loud mentality, which set Abbie apart and meant she lived every moment to the full. Abbie was a vivacious and talented cheerleader who was hailed by medics as “incredible and a truly inspirational young women”. One of Abbie’s wishes is to raise money for “Hospitals and stuff” under the charity name Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation.
