About Learn to Roller with Martin Orpin

Learn to Ride Rollers Session with Martin Orpin at the Jersey Youth Cycling Club House

All entry profits will be donated to the 2027 Faroes Cycling Island Games Team fund.

Curious about rollers or want to improve your bike handling and pedalling skills? Our Learn to Ride Rollers session is a relaxed, supportive introduction to riding rollers in a safe indoor environment.

Led by experienced coaches, you’ll learn how to get started, maintain balance, improve cadence, and build confidence step by step. Rollers are a brilliant tool for developing smooth pedalling, focus, and core stability, all skills that transfer directly to riding. You will then also have the ability to use rollers to warm up or in training sessions.

These sessions are suitable for beginners who have never tried rollers before, as well as riders looking to refine their technique. No racing or high intensity just practical guidance, confidence building, and plenty of tips.

What to expect:

  • Step-by-step introduction to riding rollers

  • One-to-one support and coaching tips

  • Focus on balance, cadence, and smooth pedalling

  • Friendly & fun atmosphere

Who it’s for:

Riders of all abilities. No previous roller experience required.

What to bring:
Your bike and normal cycling kit. Rollers provided. (If you have your own rollers and wish to attend please contact us on hello@jerseycycling.je to ensure there is sufficient room in the area.)

Perfect for building skills, confidence, and winter riding technique!
