Les Amis

Since 1975, Les Amis has provided quality services to support people with learning disabilities and/or associated conditions to gain equal opportunities in Jersey. Through our services, partnerships and the support of the local community, we aim to ensure people with learning disabilities reach their full potential in life.

We support around 100 adult Islanders at any one time via three services to suit a variety of complex, evolving needs: Residential (group care homes), Domiciliary (support for those living independently) and Respite (a 24 hour 'home away from home'). Les Amis is currently developing a nursing facility, Maison des Amis, to broaden our range of service to support our clients when their needs become more complex, for example due to age or dementia. This facility will also include end-of-life care.

Additionally, we run a social club, choir and eco-social enterprise which collects and recycles commercial cooking oil whilst providing meaningful employment to six of our service-users.

Les Amis

A little bit about us...

Originally founded in 1975 as Maison Variety to help people with learning disabilities move from institutional to community care, Les Amis is now one of Jersey’s largest charitable organisations.
Les Amis consists of a team of over 150 employees who are wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring delivery of the very best quality of care and support to the people who need it, from the residents, their families and the wider community in Jersey.
Les Amis offers a homely environment where residents feel empowered, able to express themselves and are supported and encouraged to make real choices that affect their lives.
Disability does not mean inability and at Les Amis we aim to offer the right support and at the right time.
