Some of you will know Rob (father to three wonderful children, Rosie, Florence and Fergus, as well as Vic's ex-husband and good friend).
Rob has a rare form of muscular dystrophy, called limb girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD). Muscular dystrophies are nasty, progressive muscle wasting diseases and there are currently no cures for any of them.
More research needs to be done to understand muscular dystrophy fully, and develop treatments. That’s why Rosie and Aaron, Florence and Ollie, and Vic (Ferg is too young to race, but he and Rob will be there supporting us on the day) will be running the Bidwells Town & Gown Cambridge 10k, the annual fundraising run for Muscular Dystrophy UK, every race entry funds groundbreaking research and life changing support for people living with muscle wasting conditions.
As well as entering the race we’ve created a team, RUN4JEFF (Jeff is a family nickname for Rob) and we are raising awareness and funds for this amazing charity. If you would like to find out more, or feel able to make a small donation, please follow the link.
