We’re here to beat Blood Cancer!
The Vistra Kids’ Triathlon has raised money and awareness for Bloodwise Jersey for many years. In 2020 Bloodwise Jersey changed their name to Blood Cancer UK – Jersey branch.
The name change followed discussions with the blood cancer community about how the charity can reach more people affected by blood cancer. And they found that many people did not understand that Bloodwise was a blood cancer charity and many thinking they were a blood donation service. If you would like to know more about the reasons for the name change, read this fantastic blog by Gemma Peters, the CEO of Blood Cancer UK.
The Vistra Kids’ Triathlon will continue to raise valuable awareness and funds for the Jersey branch of Blood Cancer UK. And the Jersey team are committed to making 2021 the best Kids Triathlon yet!
The situation with COVID-19 continues to have huge effects on charity events, most of them having to be cancelled or postponed in 2020 meaning that the charities like Blood Cancer UK (Jersey Branch) are unable to raise the funds they need to keep fighting blood cancer.
