We are a Jersey registered charity set up in 2015 to raise funds to provide education and healthcare in a vulnerable and disadvantaged area in Kurigram, Northern Bangladesh.
We have so far built (with JOA support) a three classroom school with sanitary facilities and basic multi-media equipment. In 2020 we were able to support a project supplying 10 water pumps and 20 latrines, greatly improving the sanitary provision desperately needed in the current pandemic, and which we often take for granted.
The Primary School opened in January 2020 but sadly closed to pupils in march of that year due to national lock down. We have been able to support the education of students in their homes during this time providing regular home visits from the teachers. In addition we have provided the children of the school with two lots of hygiene kits during this period.
This event will help us towards providing basic food packages to the needy families of the school and also to continue to fund the teachers so the children's education moves forward during these difficult times. The community are very appreciative of all the support they are being given by the people of Jersey. Thank You.
How this event will help -
£35 would fund one teachers salary for one month.
£8 would provide basic foods for one family
£3 would provide essential hygiene items - soap, face mask, nail cutters, toothpaste and toothbrush and some biscuits.
Thank you for your help.
