Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, with 16,000 people each year being diagnosed with the condition in the UK. The disease kills more men under 45 that prostate cancer and more women under 35 than breast cancer, yet just 1% of national research spend is allocated to this dreadful condition. Lions in the UK have pledged to raise £1m over 4 years to help establish a new research facility dedicated to what many scientists call the last battleground against cancer, brain tumours.
